Veena is a contemporary designer and artist who specializes in event planning. She is also owner and founder of Veena B. Productions, which focuses on producing events for emerging artists. Veena has an extensive background in working with Los Angeles nightclubs, restaurants, and magazines. Veena will be assisting in interviewing upcoming designers and musicians for PPLA.

CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF THE ROLLING STONES AT PROJECT GALLERY

 

The memories of my favorite Rolling Stones songs were echoing throughout my mind as I attended Project Gallery’s “50 Years of The Rolling Stones” exhibition in celebration of the Stones' 50th anniversary. The event featured never before seen intimate photos of The Stones. The photos were captured by photographers Ken Regan, Philip Townsend, Barrie Wentzell, Neal Preston, Lynn Goldsmith.

I am usually not a diehard fan of musicals. But, Hunky Dory had me intrigued by its song choices- artists like David Bowie, The Beach Boys, Elo, and The Byrds- so I decided to give it a chance! The result? A mix of Glee meets High School Musical, with a definitve 70s spin!

The evening I attended included special guests Ruben Fleisher, director, and Alan Baumgarten, editor, of Gangster SquadZombieland and  Mary Zophres, costume designer, for Gangster Squad andTrue Grit.

It was a truly a beautiful night to be part of a life changing cause. On Tuesday February 26, the annual Silver Circle Gala was held to benefit the Venice Family Clinic. The Gala was held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel and was sponsored by the UCLA Health System and the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and featured a special guest performance by Seal.

2013 ARTISTS IN MUSIC AWARDS HONORS EMERGING TALENT AT KEY CLUB, GRAMMYS WEEKEND

 

It was indeed a glorious night to be attending the 2013 Artists In Music Awards this past Thursday, February 7th. It was an evening where some of music’s biggest underground names came out to support their fellow artists and be honored for their talents. The awards show was established to entertain, recognize and represent emerging artists from all across the world and was the perfect kick-off to a weekend that included The Grammys.

KELLAN LUTZ HOSTS SAVING INNOCENCE BENEFIT

 

On Saturday, Dec 1, 2012, PPLA was proud to be part of a beautiful celebrity studded red carpet charity event in honor of the organization, Saving Innocence. The event took place at the Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills and was hosted by Twilight star Kellan Lutz. The gala dinner was in honor of taking a stand against sex trafficking here in the U.S. It was very inspiring to see so many celebrities come out to help fight for this cause.

PROJECT GALLERY OPENS IN HOLLYWOOD

 

I was recently able to attend the grand opening of “Lost Illusions” at Project Gallery in Hollywood. The amazing muralist and painter Zio Ziegler showcased his work and it was by far one of the most fun nights I've had exploring the L.A. art scene.

SUNSET STRIP MUSIC FESTIVAL

 

What a day to kick off the final day at the Sunset Strip Music Festival. Not only was it scorching hot outside, but it was the most jammed-packed day of the fest. It was clear the heat did not stop the diehard fans of bands including Bad Religion andThe Offspring, from filling the streets along the infamous Sunset Strip.
