AMERICAN IDOL FINALE, THREE TIMES A CHARM FOR CANDACE GLOVER
Three times was a charm for Candace Glover. After being sent home in both Season 9 and Season 11, Candace tried one more time and last night was named the Season 12 American Idol champion. In a season dominated by the girls, Candace Glover was clearly the best of the bunch and deserved to win. Week after week Candace was the best singer and was in my “Top 3” each week.
AMERICAN IDOL: CROWNING THE FINAL THREE,
The great thing about tonight’s show is we knew someone was going to be sent home. There wasn’t going to be any last minute saves by the judges or American Idol “Do Overs.” After a “Bottom 2”, finish last week and an average night last night it came as no surprise when Ryan Seacrest announced that Amber Holcomb was going home.
AMERICAN IDOL: TOP 5 ELIMINATION RESULTS
For the first time this season one of the 5 talented girls will be going home. While last year’s girls were really strong, they eventually faltered and Phil Phillips went on to win the American Idol crown. I believe that this year’s girls are the strongest group in American Idol history and for the first time since Season 6 (Jordin Sparks) we will have a female American Idol champion. As they have for most of the season Angie Miller, Candace Glover and Kree Harrison dominated the night.
AMERICAN IDOL: TOP 5 PERFORM- WOMEN TAKE ALL
With five talented girls left, the real American Idol contest starts tonight. While all five remaining girls have a chance to win, in reality it is a three person race between Candace Glover, Kree Harrison, and Angie Miller. The five men that made it to the “Top 10,” were the worst group of “Top 10” contestants in the history of American Idol. Confirming that fact, all five men were eliminated in succession. Tonight, for the second week in a row, each contestant will sing twice and there will be two themes.
AMERICAN IDOL: TOP 6 RESULTS SHOW, A WOMEN TO WIN
Is tonight going to be the end for Lazaro Arbos or is one of the girls finally going to be eliminated tonight? Based on his performances last night it should be Lazaro, but this is American Idol and you can never be sure what the voters are thinking. Let’s get right to the results!!!
AMERICAN IDOL TOP 6 PERFORMANCES: WOMEN DOMINATE
We are down to 6 contestants and Lazaro Arbos is the last man standing. The only question is how long will he last? He is clearly the weakest singer left in the competition and the five remaining girls are all strong competitors. It will take a huge effort by Lazaro to remain in the competition. For the first time this season, each contestant will sing twice and there will be two themes.
IDOL RESULTS: TOP 8 ELIMINATION
While tonight’s performances, including Keith Urban, Colton Dixon, Katharine McPhee and One Republic have all been good, 45 minutes into tonight’s show and we still have no results. Since the girls dominated the night, this should be a no brainer. The only question that remains is which one of the three guys that is left is going home? Let’s get to the results.
AMERICAN IDOL: TOP 8 PERFORMANCES
With only 3 guys left the competition the pressure is really on the guys to step up and stop the bleeding. The question is will the guys be up to the task, or for the 3rd week in a row will one of the guys be heading home. Tonight’s theme will be “Music from the Motor City, Detroit”. The contestants have some great songs to pick from and as an added bonus Smokey Robinson will be a mentor tonight. It has the potential to be a great show let’s see how they did.
AMERICAN IDOL, TOP 9 ELIMINATION RESULTS
Tonight’s results show opens up with a “Godfather like”, scene where Jimmy Iovine threatens the audio engineer’s job when he can’t hear Janelle Arthur singing in the studio. Making a point, Jimmy tells the engineer that he has fired over 100 assistants over a three year period. Wow!!! The segment ends with Jimmy shouting out to the producers “Put that on your f&%$ing show”. Very funny!!! Let’s get to the results, last night’s performance show was another strong night for the women.
AMERICAN IDOL: TOP TEN PERFORMANCES
Thank God that Hollywood Week and the live Las Vegas live performance shows are finally over. After weeks of bad performances, good performances, temper tantrums, breakdowns and inconsistent judging we finally have a “Top 10.” I for one haven’t liked many of the new changes implemented this season and their insistence on having an equal number of guys and girls in the “Top 10”, certainly didn’t result in us getting the “Top 10”, best singers.
