Still a relative newcomer, she burst on to the scene this winter in Arnold Schwarzenegger’s action packed The Last Stand, which comes out on DVD May 21.

DEREK MAGYAR: AN ARTIST'S ARTIST

Some people can act, some people can write, some people can direct, but a rare few can transition seamlessly between these art forms. One exception to this rule is mult-talented artist Derek Magyar who made his mark as an actor and is now producing and directing both theater and film. But his biggest achievement, perhaps, is giving back to the community of artists in Los Angeles through his involvement as a CalArts alumni and his latest project AuditionLoft.com.

TAKE FIVE WITH DIALTONE, NEW MUSIC NOT TO MISS

Dialtone sounds like a punk band, that has the personality of a rock band, and has hooks and choruses like a pop band. In their third album, Wind Me Up, they sing about vices, conformity, rebellion, and of course, love. Their lyrics shout with empowerment, but they sometimes cry with a punk lyricism. A highlight for me was their creative and original background vocals, which added harmony and sound effects in the form of bouncing consonants and vowels.

INNOVATIVE DJ JASON ZENGA (HIGH-DEF) RETURNS TO ELECTRONIC MUSIC

After a long hiatus, Massachusetts based producer and live performing artist Jason Zenga (High-Def) is returning to the music industry. Zenga is a pioneer DJ- once known for his fusion of hard house and hip hop anthems that made him an early ambassador of electronic music.
