THE CSI FRANCHISE RETURNS FOR FALL

I am a long-time fan of the CSI brand. I follow both the CSI- NY and Miami series. So when the two returned to TV this past week, you bet my DVR was set to follow these detectives wherever their paths may go.

SECOND CHANCES: FREE AGENTS

Just two weeks ago, I reviewed the series premiere of the Hank Azaria comedy Free Agents, a British import in which Azaria and Kathryn Hahn play co-workers on the rebound who have a drunken hook-up.  I felt that the show had set itself up as a typical "will they or won't they" workplace comedy and that the writers would have to step it up for the show to keep my attention.  I also questioned whether Azaria could truly carry a series. Two episodes later, I've come to the conclusion that Free Agents is the best new comedy this season. Its only threat is poor promotion and positioning by the network.

PATRICK JANE PASSES GO

From the beginning of The Mentalist, there has always been Red John- the serial killer that murdered Patrick Jane's (Simon Baker) wife and child and remains at large...at least until the cliffhanger episode that capped off last season. Patrick Jane ended up face to face with the man that killed his family and shot him dead... Or did he?

TERRA NOVA - JURASSIC PARK MEETS LOST

In a season filled with largely disappointing premieres, one of the most highly-anticipated new shows is the Steven Spielberg produced Terra Nova, a sci-fi action-adventure series, in which humans travel back in time to restart civilization in the time of the dinosaurs.
