The follow up console to the current Wii, dubbed the Wii U, debuted a new controller layout and sleek console style.
I sampled one of the games, Just Dance 4, which is also published by Ubisoft. Four-player mode allowed players to dance and mimic moves by their avatar counterparts. One player’s character was the silhouette of a man in a business suit, allowing him to copy the moves of the character on screen.
The game offers a tighter and more consistent user interface than its predecessors, allowing the player to conduct actions and have it read perfectly on the screen.
One of the most entertaining parts of the game was dancing directly with another opponent, for instance, one part of the song forced all four-players to connect arm to arm and kick their legs up in the air.The game notifies each player when a particular action was completed ‘perfectly’ or ‘good.’ A crown is placed on top of the player’s name when they are in the lead, and due to the fast paced gameplay, you never know who will win. The game will be released in conjunction with its console counterparts, the Xbox 360 and PS3.
You’ll be able to dance to Rihanna’s "Disturbia" and "Wild Wild West" from Will Smith with many more tracks to be confirmed prior to release. We even spotted Snoop Dog enjoying this and other games at the convention. Perhaps we will be dancing to one of his tracks on the new Wii-U soon!
