CATALINA FILM FEST KICKS OFF WITH STAN LEE

The second annual Catalina Film Festival, held on Catalina Island just off the coast of Long Beach, kicked off its weekend long celebration of cinema with a special screening of The Avengers and an appearance by one of the great icons of pop culture Stan Lee.

BEASTIE BOYS FACE A HUGE LOSS

The music world lost one of its greats this weekend as Adam Yauch, also known as MCA, of the Beastie Boys died early Friday morning of cancer. As co-founding member of the three-time Grammy winning hip-hop group, he played an instrumental part in the groundbreaking trios success.
