Well, I’m definitely not in Kansas anymore, or L.A. either. No, where I found myself the weekend of April 26-28, 2013 was the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo aka C2E2. Although the opportunity to spend some quality nerdy time with some friends is what originally drew me to the 3-day long convention, what truly excited me was the variety of things going on at the same time.
The FirstGlance Film festival was originally started in 1996 by a small group of people with the intention of it becoming a low-key indie fest in a basement of a theater in Philadelphia. After a few viewings were shown with a rented projector and a couple of televsions, FirstGlance Films gained popularity from the excitement passed down by its attendees. Soon enough, it became a major event that made its way into Hollywood, and expanded to 100,000 attendees.
The Iceman is the story of infamous contract killer Richard Kuklinski, who in his career reportedly killed upwards of 150 people until his arrest in 1986. The story begins as Kuklinski, played by Michael Shannon, is plucked from his safe, yet disgraceful, job as a pornography film dubbing technician to become the hired gun for mob boss Roy Demeo, played by Ray Liotta.

In this latest installment, Stark is pitted against an enemy that he unknowingly made 13 years prior.
Being a HUGE Madonna fan, I was thrilled when I heard that her Material Girl Collection at Macy’s would be hosting a Pop-Up Exhibit featuring iconic costumes that the singer has worn throughout her career. Die-hard fans stood in a line wrapped around the corner at Century City Mall waiting to see the exhibit, and celebrities couldn't wait to walk the pink carpet to attend this event.
